The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has observed deficiencies in Shree Airlinesβ Aircraft Maintenance procedure and performance while the airlines is going to receive two new Dash 8 aircrafts from Portland that will arrive Nepal by tomorrow.
The CAANβs spokesperson Jagnnath Niroula stated, βThe company has been suspended from conducting structural maintenance of aircraft, as observed in our study. Now they cannot carry out maintenance related to Aircraft Structure. Another company needs to be assigned the responsibility.β
The companyβs spokesperson, Anil Manandhar, indicated that they are working according to CAANβs directives. βWe are under the audit of CAAN, some requirements have been provided for fulfillment,β Manandhar stated. βWe are working accordingly to meet the guidelines of CAAN.β
CAAN directed the testing of all aircraft within one hour after technical issues were reported in the companyβs aircraft on Tuesday.
On the evening of last Monday, the aircraft of β9N-ANSβ, which had technical problems, underwent maintenance by the company and was sent for regular flights.
Similarly, Shreeβs aircraft underwent sudden repairs in one of its Q-400 Dash 8 aircraft after technical problems occurred during the Surkhet-Kathmandu flight on February 3.
The company has two CRJ-200, two CRJ-700, and four Q-400 Turboprop aircraft. Two CRJs and one Turboprop aircraft have been grounded for technical reasons.
