Manang Air Expands Fleet with Addition of Second Airbus Helicopter, Reinforcing Critical Aviation Services in Nepal

Manang Air, a key player in Nepal’s helicopter services industry, has announced the expansion of its fleet with the introduction of its second Airbus helicopter, registered as 9N-AOJ. This development marks a significant milestone for the company, which has been diligently rebuilding its operations following a series of setbacks.

Previously, Manang Air faced major challenges when its helicopters, 9N-AMV and 9N-ANJ, were lost in separate accidents, leaving the company without any operational aircraft. This forced a temporary suspension of services, creating a difficult period for the company. However, in March 2024, Manang Air began its resurgence by adding an Airbus H125, registered as 9N-AOE, to its fleet. This helicopter was purchased directly from the Airbus Helicopter Factory in France, symbolizing a fresh start for the company.

Now, with the addition of 9N-AOJ, another Airbus H125 model, Manang Air is further strengthening its operational capabilities. The 9N-AOJ is a used helicopter, purchased from HELITRANS, a respected helicopter operating company in Norway. This acquisition reflects Manang Air’s strategic approach to rebuilding its fleet by integrating reliable, high-performing aircraft.

The Airbus H125 helicopters, both 9N-AOE and 9N-AOJ, are renowned for their reliability and performance, especially in challenging environments. Capable of flying at altitudes of up to 23,000 feet, these helicopters are perfectly suited for operations in Nepal’s high-altitude regions, including the Himalayas.
