The private airline Yeti Airlines successfully airlifted two women injured in a bus accident from Pokhara to Kathmandu on Wednesday (7th Chaitra).
The bus, which was en route from Rukum to Kathmandu, met with an accident in Baglung on the 6th of Chaitra, causing injuries to Laxmi Pun Magar and Sabina Pun Magar. Despite efforts by their relatives to airlift them from Pokhara Airport to Kathmandu in Yeti’s aircraft for further treatment, it was not possible due to technical reasons, as informed by Yeti Airlines.
After completing the entire process of transferring the injured (patients) on Wednesday (7th Chaitra), Yeti Airlines arranged to place stretchers by removing six seats from one of its aircraft to airlift the injured women to Kathmandu successfully on two flights at 7 PM and 9:23 PM respectively. A relative accompanied the patients.
“It’s necessary for airlines to be prepared in advance to provide special assistance to injured or sick passengers,” said an official from Yeti Airlines on Thursday. “Considering the condition of the injured, they needed to be airlifted on stretchers instead of seats, which is why it wasn’t possible to accommodate them on Tuesday’s flight.”
