Nepal Airlines Corporation has officially commenced the construction of its new building for relocation of its head office in Sinamangal. Nepal Airlines has its central office at New Road presently. The national airline, facing challenges in generating profits from its airline operations and struggling with timely aircraft maintenance, has announced an ambitious plan to build a luxurious and well-equipped facility in Sinamangal. Despite difficulties in keeping its planes in the air, the airline aims to construct a modern facility with a cultural touch, emphasizing both functionality and aesthetic appeal for the new building.

A groundbreaking ceremony was conducted on January 27, 2024, in Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Ward No. 9, for the construction site of the central office of building of the National Flag Carrier Nepal Airlines Corporation, located in Sinamangal. The event was attended by Mr. Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation (MoCTA), Sudhan Kiranti who also inaugurated the ceremony.

In the upcoming years, as part of a multi-year plan, Nepal Airlines Corporation will be constructing its central office building, an In-Flight Catering building with necessary parking facilities, and other essential structures in the vicinity of the land in Sinamangal. The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by the Corporation’s executive committee member Mr. Kishor Pradhan, Senior Captain Mr. Sudhir Samsher Rai, Mr. Amritman Shrestha, high-ranking officers in the Corporation’s management, representatives from four active trade unions within the Corporation, employees, and communication personnel.
