Yeti Airlines To Operate All Ten Of Its Aircrafts From March

Yeti Airlines has been in limelight lately for its massive fleet expansion execution as it ferried two ATR-72 aircrafts at once which marked the starting of a new competitive phase of Yeti Airlines among the domestic carriers in partnership with Asian Life Insurance, 49 percent stake holder in the company.

According to sources, Yeti Airlines is commencing its first commercial flight with its new aircraft ‘9N-AOH’ (previously owned by NovoAir with call sign ‘S2-AHG’) in 3 days time. The paper works for the Certificate of Airworthiness from Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) and other necessary documents were already ready. As the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal has been very strict lately regarding aircraft parking slot issues, Yeti Airlines has parked its new aircraft in its hangar where touch up paintings and other minor company finishings are being done.

The aircraft has already got the company’s official Yeti Logo on top of NovoAir logo on its empennage. The company is in a hurry to operate the flight with its new aircraft as soon as possible due to which only necessary touch up paint can be seen on top of the old NOVOAir logo. However, the company plans to fully paint the aircraft during the next upcoming major checks.

The second aircraft, ‘9N-AOF’ has been flown to Pokhara International Airport Hangar for further maintenance. The aircraft was due for a few major inspections which are being done at PIA state of the art Hangar. Yeti Airlines is only second airline to make use of the newly constructed Hangar of Pokhara Airport after Saurya Airlines. Saurya Airlines recently conducted a C-Check Inspection of its CRJ-200 which was the first official check inside the new PIA Hangar.

Yeti Airlines plans to operate with a full fleet of Seven ATR-72 aircrafts along with Tara Airs’ three DHC Twin Otters from early March as it is maintaining all of its grounded aircraft. 9N-AMM, an aircraft grounded for more than 2 years, is also inside the PIA Hangar along with 9N-AOF which is expected to fly within February.

Yeti Airlines, established in 1998, has emerged as a prominent player in Nepal’s aviation landscape, renowned for its punctuality, safety record, and customer-centric approach. The airline operates a diverse range of routes across the country, connecting major cities, tourist destinations, and remote areas, thus facilitating essential connectivity and economic growth. With this expansion, Yeti Airlines aims to strengthen its position as a leading domestic and regional carrier.

As the countdown begins for the launch of commercial flights with the new aircraft fleet, anticipation is high among passengers and industry stakeholders alike.
