Buddha Air has been continuously increasing its market share, reaching 62 percent successfully. Buddha Air earned whooping NPR 12 billion 16 crore in the fiscal year 2079/080, as mentioned in the rate details provided by the company significantly increasing the revenue.
In the latest four fiscal years, Buddha Air has earned NPR 30 billion 50 crore. Among them, Buddha Air earned NPR 4 billion 94 crore in the fiscal year 2076/077, NPR 3 billion 33 crore in 077/078, NPR 10 billion 9 crore in 078/079, and NPR 12 billion 16 crore in 2079/080.
Buddha Air has earned only NPR 3 billion 83 crore in the first quarter of the current fiscal year. Buddha Air’s income has been continuously increasing, whereas in the fiscal year 2077/078, it had decreased due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In Nepal’s domestic aviation sector, Buddha Air has been seen as dominant. Based on passenger numbers and investments, Buddha Air has maintained a significant presence in the market for a long time.
In 2023, Buddha Air held more than two-thirds of the market share. According to Tribhuvan International Airport’s statistics, Buddha Air served 2,577,618 passengers. Out of a total of 4,150,326 passengers who traveled on domestic flights, more than 62 percent belonged to Buddha Air. In its 27 years of establishment, Buddha Air has served 30 million passengers.
Buddha Air commenced flights with a small 18-seater aircraft, but now it operates AT-72 with a capacity of 72 seats, 14 AT-42, and 42 aircraft. There are plans to add two more aircraft.
Buddha Air has a modern hangar for aircraft maintenance, one of the best in Southeast Asia. This hangar has also been honored internationally. Buddha Air not only maintains its own aircraft but also provides services to domestic and foreign companies.
