A huge part of fuselage falls off a Boeing 737 aircraft in air

The exact whereabouts of the panel are unknown, and United Airlines has announced plans to thoroughly examine the plane and conduct repairs before returning it to service.

A United Boeing 737-800 lost a large belly panel after departing from San Francisco International Airport yesterday.

Ground personnel noticed the missing panel, located underneath the wing and behind the main landing gear, after the plane had parked at the gate at its destination at Rogue Valley International Medford Airport in Oregon. Despite the missing panel, the flight, carrying 145 passengers and 6 crew, did not encounter any issues during its journey from San Francisco.

The exact whereabouts of the panel are unknown, and United Airlines has announced plans to thoroughly examine the plane and conduct repairs before returning it to service. The Federal Aviation Administration will also investigate the incident.
