Fifty-four police officers stationed at Tribhuvan International Airport have been removed together shocking who had been posted in the airport since long. The Police Office, Ranipokhari, has removed those who have been serving for more than five years and up to sixteen years together. Sub-Inspector Chief AIG Dipak Thapa confirmed that they have been removed and a new team has been sent.
Regarding the removal, the police office has support from junior to senior officials. though There are 50 more officers who have been working in TIA for a long time however, they have not been removed immediately. “They are working in the X-Ray and screening department, which requires trained personnel to replace them,” AIG Thapa said. “We are coordinating with the airport administration to train the new team, and they will gradually be replaced as well.”
Lower-level police officials stationed at the airport for a long time have been accused of engaging in illegal activities. AIG Thapa stated that since staying in the same place for a long time could also increase the impact of their work, this decision was made.
“We are also basing training on sending the new team. Now, at least those who have passed SLC will be stationed at the airport,” he added.
