On Friday morning, people were surprised to see a military helicopter being transported on the streets of the city. The Airbus AS 350 B2 helicopter, under registration of ‘NA-033’, wasn’t flying; instead, it was being moved from the airport to the Nepal Army headquarters, Bhadrakali for a military exhibition.

Even though the helicopter couldn’t fly at the moment because it needed repairs, it caught the eye of many residents as it traveled through the city streets, creating excitement on the busy road. The Helicopter is under maintenance at Nepal Army Aviation and is not expected to take off any soon in the sky.

This helicopter has been grounded in the hangars of Nepal Army for more than a year now according to Military sources. The exhibition soon starting the Army Headquarters will have a stall displaying this aircraft as one of the important aspect of Nepal Army. ‘The NA-033’ also beholds an extra ordinary record for flying beyond the manufacturer recommended ceiling for a Mount Everest Rescue which has also been featured in the movie ‘Everest”.
