Shree Airlines Dash 8 landing gear malfunctions at Dhangadhi

A Dash 8 aircraft of Shree Airlines with registration ‘9N-ANS’ suffered a landing gear problem at Dhangadhi Airport resulting its grounding on site. After that technical issues occurred in the aircraft, it has been grounded at the airport. One of the tyre among two tyres of the nose landing gear of the aircraft blasted and the aircraft operated with only one wheel.

The airport chief, Ganesh Bahadur Singh informed that the aircraft had damage on its front wheel after landing and during the parking process in Dhangadhi Airport. The flight with call sign SHA 227 flight from Kathmandu to Dhangadhi arrived on Monday evening.

The front nose landing gear wheels of the aircraft had a bearing failure problem because of which one of the tyres of nose landing gear blasted during landing. The only one wheel was visible in the nose landing gear of the aircraft after the aircraft was parked in the ramp. The bearing blasted out wheels of the aircraft in landing or as the aircraft was taxiing out for parking in the ramp is still unknown.

If the other wheel also had blasted sue to extreme pressure, the aircraft gears assembly might have contacted the ground with high friction with chances of fire.

The plane was grounded after the front wheel was damaged during landing.A technical team from Shree Airlines has already been working to resolve the problem encountered on the plane. He also mentioned that permission for flight would only be granted after necessary repairs have been made.

Shree Airlines has been suffering from technical problems time and again. While some minor technical problems are not uncommon but a repetition of the problems can signify a hazard that the carrier must prevent at any cost.
