Over 65,000 citizens left Nepal in Falgun Searching for Employment

According to statistics from the Foreign Employment Department, in Falgun 2080, only 65,658 individuals have obtained new or renewed labor approvals. Every month, over 65,000 on average Nepalis are going abroad in search of employment.

During the current fiscal year (2078/79), which spans eight months, the number of Nepalis obtaining new or renewed labor approvals has reached 471,210. On average, 2,000 Nepalis are going abroad from Nepal every day.

Out of the Nepalis going abroad for employment in Falgun 2080, 6,768 are women. The number of Nepalis going abroad in the last three months consistently exceeds 60,000, according to the statistics.

In Falgun 2080, the number of Nepalis going abroad for employment has increased compared to the same month of the previous year. In the previous year, 61,845 Nepalis had gone abroad in Falgun.

According to the statistics, this year, nearly 500,000 Nepalis have gone abroad in the eight months. This is slightly less compared to the same period of the previous year.

In the previous year, 504,675 Nepalis had gone abroad in eight months, setting a record for Nepalis going abroad for employment.

This year, there is more attraction towards the United Arab Emirates (UAE). In Falgun alone, 18,777 labor approvals have been issued for the UAE.

In Saudi Arabia, 13,267, Qatar 11,390, and Malaysia 8,417 labor approvals have been issued, according to the statistics.

This month, Kuwait has issued 3,206, Japan 1,360, Korea 730, Romania 1,784, Mauritius 859, and Croatia 915 labor approvals, according to the department.
