Baggage Claim at Tribhuvan International Airport - Aviation in Nepal

Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) has installed a new baggage conveyer belt in the newly established domestic arrival terminal. Previously, there was only one belt for baggage claim that passengers were able to use. With the addition of new one, the arrival terminal has 2 baggage claim stations operating at once.

Due to the increased flow of passengers in the Domestic terminals of TIA, there used to be chaos and difficulty in the baggage claim stations. The airport authority has expected passengers would now have ease in collecting their baggage with addition of new conveyer belt.

The passengers needed to wait for a plenty of time for collecting their baggage because of very high number of flights operating at once in the airport. There used to be crowd every time near the baggage claim station at the airport. This is the same problem face at the international baggage claim station too. Passengers need to wait for at least half an hour on average for collection of their checked in baggage in the baggage claim stations.
