Nepal Airlines Criticizes ‘Bizmandu’ Over Publication of Their News

The national flag carrier Nepal Airlines has criticised and expressed deep concern over a news that was published in Bizmandu. A news regarding the tour of Nepal Airlines officials in foreign country in name of leasing aircraft had gone viral in the social media published by Bizmandu dated 15 February 2024. Nepal Airlines has shown a deep concern over the publication of the very news.

The corporation management, having borrowed half a billion rupees from the Employee Provident Fund and Citizens Investment Trust to buy four large aircraft, and not repairing the grounded plane, has paved the way for overseas trips. Executive Chairman Yuvaraj Adhikari, who has been accused of depleting the company’s resources and now has paved this way to go to Japan along with his spouse.

The Chairman has also offered a package to Commissioner of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority to take the couple to Dubai in an attempt to get away from his charges by impressing and influencing him. Bizmandu has claimed clearly that this package has been prepared to please the director and the adviser.

The corporation has urged all the media housed to be sincere and take consideration of media ethics before publication of such misleading news and has also mentioned that they already have filed a complaint against Bizmandu in Press Council Nepal for legal penalization.
