The helipad in Nalinchwok, Bhaktapur, is gearing up for immediate operational readiness by initiating plans to construct a terminal building. The completion of the helipad’s construction has reached a stage where it is poised for immediate functionality. To facilitate the seamless operation of the helipad, preparations are now underway to establish a dedicated terminal building.

Jagnnath Niroula, the spokesperson for the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), has shared insights into these preparations, emphasizing that while the helipad itself is now ready for use, the absence of a terminal building necessitates urgent attention. This has prompted the decision to undertake the construction of a terminal building to serve the needs of passengers.

The progress in this endeavor is underscored by the fact that testing flights have already been conducted approximately three months ago, validating the operational capabilities of the helipad. The entire project, which involved constructing the helipad, incurred a cost of NPR 11.9 million.

Encompassing an extensive area of 33 ropanis, the helipad is expected to play a crucial role in facilitating helicopter services to various destinations in Nepal. The current absence of a terminal building, however, is recognized as a gap in passenger facilities. Hence, the proactive decision to construct a terminal building reflects a commitment to enhancing the overall operational efficiency of the helipad.

The envisioned terminal building will not only serve as a point of departure and arrival for passengers but will also contribute to the comprehensive development of the helipad infrastructure. The proactive approach in addressing this aspect underscores the commitment to providing a seamless and efficient experience for both domestic and international travelers utilizing the helipad.
