Initially, the police confronted officer Moktan. After completing his duty, he was checked by the police in the arrival area from the departure gate. The disagreement arose during this process, according to the source, leading to physical force against the officer. The immigration officer often didn’t let the police check arguing that the police on duty are making the checking randomly and not regularly.

There had been previous disputes between the police and Moktan. On several occasions, other police officers also came and used force against Moktan.

The police informed Airport Immigration Office Chief Gogan Bahadur Hamal about the incident of the use of force against Officer Moktan. He immediately went to the scene.

After reaching there, Officer Moktan informed Chief Hamal about the police using force against him. Hamal watched the CCTV footage, which confirmed that the police had used force against Officer Moktan.

“The chief Hamal, who understood the situation of the force used against Officer Moktan, was also subjected to force by the police,” the source said.

Nepal Police spokesperson, DIG Bhem Dhoj Dhakal, mentioned that a routine check had led to a general dispute.
