On Monday evening, a passenger on an Air Canada flight from Toronto to Dubai caused a significant delay after opening a cabin door and falling onto the tarmac before departure.

The incident occurred during the boarding process of flight AC056 when a passenger who boarded the aircraft normally went to the opposite side of the cabin, opened the Boeing 777 exit door, and fell out of it.

As a result, the passenger suffered injuries from the 20-foot fall to the tarmac below. Emergency services and authorities were immediately summoned to the scene. In a video posted from the tarmac on X, the male passenger can be seen sitting on the tarmac, responsive, while airline ground agents are seen gesturing him to remain still as they wait for medical services.

The flight, carrying 319 passengers, was scheduled to depart at 9:35 pm for the long nonstop journey to the Middle East but was delayed by more than six hours due to the severity of the incident.
